Did you know that televisions are one of the most commonly damaged items when moving? One of the main reasons is because most of us are not aware how to properly pack a TV when moving. TVs are incredibly delicate (not to mention expensive) so it’s important to take the time to pack each TV in your house properly.

Original TV box (if available)

Steps on How to Pack a TV When Moving House
Unplug and Clean the TV: Disconnect all cables, wires, and accessories. Clean the screen with a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt.
Use the Original Box (if available): If you still have the original packaging, this is the safest option. Place the TV inside the box, using foam padding to fill any gaps. Secure the box with packing tape. Of course, the chances of having the original box is pretty slim, especially if you have kids who will transform any cardboard box into a craft.
Wrap the TV in Bubble Wrap: If you don’t have the original box, wrap the entire TV in bubble wrap. Make sure the screen is fully covered, with at least 3 inches of padding around all sides.
Use Moving Blankets: Wrap the TV in a moving blanket to provide extra cushioning. Tape the blanket in place to ensure it doesn't shift during transport.
Place the TV Upright: If the TV is not in a box, place it upright in the moving truck. Avoid laying it flat, as this can risk damaging the screen.
Mark the Box: If you’re using a box, clearly mark it with "Fragile" and "This Side Up" to ensure careful handling.
If you are loading the moving truck yourself or if you are using a self-pack service, then we recommend loading your TV as one of the last items. This goes for all valuables.
