How Container Transport Works
Here's how self pack container transport works:
Delivery: The delivery truck will arrive with the container and use a hydraulic system or crane to place it in the designated spot.
Packing: Once the container is in place, you’ll have the time you’ve allocated to pack it.
Loading: Once you have packed up your house, it's time to load the container. You can do this a little bit at a time or do it all in one day/weekend. It's entirely up to you. That's the beauty of self-pack container removals - you can work around your schedule.
Pick-Up: After packing, you’ll schedule a pick-up for your container. The same truck (or a different one, depending on logistics) will return to retrieve the container. The driver will use the same equipment to lift and load the container onto the truck.
Transport: The container will be transported to your new location or storage facility. Depending on the distance and the transport company, this could take a few hours to several days. Container transport usually includes fuel costs as well as minimal insurance so you may want to consider extra contents insurance.
Drop Off:Once your container arrives at your new home or location, the transport company will place it in the designated area, whether this is your driveway or on the street. Remember, you will need to pay a permit fee if parking the container on a street.
Unloading: Now the fun part! Unloading the container at your own pace and enjoying that fresh new home feel! Take your time, enjoy and take plenty of breaks.
Pick Up: Once you have finished unloading the container, a transport company will return to your home and pick up the container (if it's a container hire).
The process may sound complicated but it's actually really simple and one of the most convienent ways to move.
